Committee on Multicultural Initiatives and
Diversity - COMID The
mission of the Committee on Multicultural Initiatives and
Diversity (COMID) is to foster our community and
environment where the richness of our diversity is
recognized, respected and embraced. Our view on diversity
includes, but is not limited to, ethnic, racial and
linguistic heritage; religious traditions; gender; sexual
orientation; age; and socioeconomic status.

The diversity goals were consolidated into three goals.

subgroups will be formed to address each goal (see
below)

Discussion Community Assessment Models

Discussion on how to obtain information from the
community

NAIS
AIMS (Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism)
- Addresses issues pertaining to
curriculum
- Questions for students, staff,
and parents
- Compares data with other
membership schools

Institutional Assessment (more information needed)

Action
items:
- "Heads up" from Don in monthly
mailing
- Separate letter from COMID (JAN)
- Survey will be completed by the
students during advisory
- March complete committee work
- Focus groups- 1st week of third
trimester
- Train students during the month of
Feb. for focus group work in March
- Develop focus group questions
